Over the last year, the East Pasco Association of REALTORS® and Greater Tampa REALTORS® have considered ways to enhance our member services while offering the best benefits for all. Our joint efforts have helped us realize that a partnership between our associations would make us stronger. As one association, we could increase our impact in the community and real estate industry, while creating a more member-focused association for our combined 11,000+ members.

FAQs

What are the benefits of merging?

Combining efforts to create one, unified association will provide benefits for all including:

  • Access to service offices in Zephyrhills, Wesley Chapel and South Tampa
  • A calendar of nearly 500 education courses and events, including several that will be conducted in the North Tampa and East Pasco areas and broadcast online
  • A stronger voice to advocate for REALTOR® and property owners’ rights on the state, local and national levels; and more!

This is a limited list of the benefits available to both memberships. Should the merger be approved, a comprehensive benefits package will be distributed to familiarize all members with the great benefits available to them.

When would the merger be finalized?

What will happen to the leadership of each association?

Service on the GTR board requires minimum service on committees. All EPAR committee history will carry over and will be acceptable for service on the GTR board. An EPAR Merger Committee will be formed to appoint one member to serve on the GTR board through 2020.

What happens to my Affiliate membership?

Current EPAR Affiliates will be added to the directory of GTR Affiliates. To accommodate for the differences in Affiliate dues, current EPAR Affiliates would continue to pay their current dues through 2019. Affiliates that join after the finalization of the merger would be charged based on their desired level of membership. To view Affiliate membership levels and benefits, click here.

What will happen to the EPAR building?

There are no plans to close the current EPAR location. After 2 – 3 years, the site location will be evaluated based upon the engagement and foot traffic to determine if it is still an ideal location for our all members. A full-time, dedicated staff member will continue to be onsite at the current EPAR location, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

How many members would the potential merger include?

After merging, the total membership would include more than 11,000 members.

How much will dues be for REALTOR® and Affiliate members?

REALTORS®: Dues for both GTR and EPAR members will be due on November 30, 2018. Local dues are $120. New office set up fees are $500. Application fees for new members would be $225. Note: All existing EPAR members on the date of merger approval will be exempt from application fees.

Affiliates: EPAR Affiliates would continue to pay their current dues through 2019. Affiliates that join after the finalization of the merger would be charged based on their desired level of membership. To view Affiliate membership levels and benefits, click here.

Which location can I visit to access member services?

Post merger, all members will have access to each location for in-person member services. Locations include:

  • South Tampa: 2918 W. Kennedy Blvd, Tampa, 33609
  • Wesley Chapel: 2224 Ashley Oaks Circle, Suite 101, Wesley Chapel, 33544
  • Zephyrhills: 5026 7th Street, Zephyrhills, 33542

What will the name of the merged association be?

The merged association would maintain the name of Greater Tampa REALTORS®.

How will my service on committees be affected?

Both associations have members actively involved on committees. A Pasco Relations Team will be created to incorporate EPAR members on various committees and task forces. Volunteer membership is incredibly important to the success of every association. There are many opportunities for members to engage in leadership roles on all levels.  Sign ups for committees occur in the fall and will be open to all members.

What will happen to my Supra ActiveKey?

Currently, Supra ActiveKeys are used by only about 20 EPAR members, while GTR members use Supra eKeys. To keep up with current real estate technology trends, those ActiveKeys will be phased out over time. For more information on eKeys, click here.

How can I get more information on this potential merger?

Information will be distributed to memberships of both associations through a variety of channels including via email and in-person town hall meetings. You can also check this website for any updates about this potential merger.
